Dexter’s Nathan Richards started off the scoring quickly when he laid one to the back of the net on an assist from Ethan Boutilier just 89 seconds in. Boutilier would have the next goal just right minutes later when he was assisted by Nathan Richards. J.J. Devine put in the last goal for the first half just six minutes after on a great assist across the 18 yard mark from Nathan Richards.
Bucksport’s Jakob Donnell would open the second half with a goal at 35:41. Dexter then shut down any thought of a comeback when they went on to score four unanswered goals. The first from Devine at 31:19 on a beautiful upper 90 shot just outside the 18 on a direct kick. The second was put in by Nathan Richards three minutes later and that was assisted by Kobe Pillsbury. The third for Dexter in the second half came from an assist from Devine to Boutilier who was able to rocket it to the back of the net. Trever Richards scored the 4th unassisted with just 15:43 left in regulation. Bucksport’s Gabriel Stegner was able to squeeze one more to make the score 7-2. Dexter freshman Seth Robbins was able to quickly answer that, with just two minutes left in regulation, when he laid a shot over the Bucksport’s keeper head and hit the far post net.
