HERMON, Me- Senior quarterback Garrett Trask accounted for over half of his teams total yardage Friday night, to help lead the Hermon Hawks to a 25-7 win over the Nokomis Warriors in a Class C Northern Maine football game at Pottle Field in Hermon.

Nokomis (1-2) took the lead first in this one with their first possession, as junior wideout Tyler Pelletier scored on a one yard run to cap off an 11 play 56 yard drive to make it 7-0. Hermon came right back as sophomore fullback Zach Tubbs scored on a one yarder of his own on the first play of the second quarter. The Hawks missed the extra point, and the Warriors still held a 7-6 lead.

Hermon once again would march the field late in the first half. With just over a minute left before the break, Trask scored on a two yard run and Hermon with another missed extra point led at the half 12-7.

With the score holding at 12-7 with three minutes left in the third, Trask from his own 25 yard line used a playaction pass to find a wide open Matthew Bailey at around midfield. Bailey however dropped the pass on what looked like a blown coverage by the Warriors on a play that Bailey would of scored easily on. Just over two minutes later on the Hawks next possession, Trask connected on a playaction pass that this time was caught by receiver Wyatt Gogan. The 72 yard score with a missed extra point made it 18-7, and seemed to take the wind out of the Warriors.

Early in the fourth quarter it was Trask again setting things up for Hermon (3-0). He scampered down the left sideline 52 yards nearly taking it to the endzone. Tubbs finished it off on the next play with his second touchdown of the night from three yards out. The Hawks converted on their final PAT of the contest and ended the scoring on the night. Nokomis starting quarterback Andrew Haining took a hard hit after throwing an interception late in the game. Haining had to be helped to the bench with an unknown injury.

Pelletier and Beau Briggs led the Warrior offense with 55 yards a piece on the ground on a total combined 22 carries. Haining was only 4-13 passing for 13 yards, with an interception. He did add 28 yards rushing on seven carries. Hermons Trask had one touchdown through the air and one on the ground. He finished 2-7 passing for 104 yards, and also rushed 10 times for 125 yards. Tubbs added the pair of touchdowns and had 56 yards on the ground on 17 carries. River Mullen also added 34 yards rushing on 10 attempts. Hermon nearly doubled up Nokomis in total yardage.

Next Friday at 7 pm Hermon heads to Pittsfield to battle MCI in a big early season matchup. Nokomis returns home and will host Waterville next Saturday at 1 pm.
