The #18 University of Maine field hockey team may take a further climb up the national standings this week. The 7-0 Black Bears cruised past University of California-Davis Sunday afternoon 7-1 at Moulton-Winder Field in Burlington, Vermont.
Libby Reidl scored a pair of goals and five other Black Bears tallied goals as well as Maine took a 4-1 halftime lead and cruised to another win. Emily Hindle, Nina Keur, Casey Crowley, Lydia Gavner, and Samantha Wagg had the other tallies. Crowley also added an assist. Mia Borley got the win in the Maine goal. The unbeaten Bears have outscored their opponents 33-7 so far, which include wins over #19 Boston University and #24 Ohio State.
UC-Davis (4-5) scored on their only shot on goal on a marker by Shannon Wong.
Maine returns to action Friday at 4 pm when they travel to Boston to battle Northeastern University.
