A day after a brutal 31-20 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday, the New England Patriots made a trade Monday.
The team announced they have signed speedy wide receiver Josh Gordon from the Cleveland Browns.
Packaged in the trade the Patriots have sent a 2019 5th round pick to the Browns, and if Gordon is inactive for 10 games it will switch to a late round pick per Adam Schefter.
The addition of Gordon boosts a weak wide receiving core that includes only three guys which include Chris Hogan, Phillip Dorsett and Cordalle Patterson. Gordon may be a welcome sight to Tom Brady who could definitely use a speedy deep threat. With the addition of Gordon, New England also announced the release of receiver Corey Coleman who also had played in Cleveland and Buffalo.
Gordon is eligible to play Sunday Night against the Lions
