The Baltimore Orioles broke a 3-3 tie with three runs in the seventh and broke the game open with four more in the 9th in a 10-3 win over the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday evening at Fenway Park.
The Red Sox won the first game of the day/night doubleheader 19-3 during the afternoon. The Orioles turned the table against Chris Sale and the Red Sox. Sale allowed three runs on four hits and one walk in 4.2 innings. Sale struck out eight in his final tuneup before postseason play.
Eduardo Rodriguez and Ryan Brasier were bright spots out of the bullpen. Matt Barnes (6-4) and Craig Kimbrel struggling, allowing seven runs combined. Rafael Devers had one hit and reached base twice. Devers had a big game in the afternoon win.
The Red Sox will finish the regular season with a three game weekend series with the Yankees at Fenway Park. Rick Porcello will be the starter in game one of the series on Friday night.
