Dexter girls soccer improves to 12-0 with double overtime win over Orono

Peyton Grant scored off a free kick from Avery Herrick with 23.9 seconds left in the second overtime to give the Dexter girls soccer team a 1-0 win at Orono on Tuesday afternoon.

The Tigers improved to 12-0 with two games remaining in the regular season. Dexter has outscored opponents 71-16 this season. The two most challenging games for the Tigers up to this point have come against Orono. It also took double overtime for Dexter to get by the Red Riots on September 17th.

Addy Herrick had two saves on five shots for the Tigers. Dexter sits comfortably at the top of the Maine Principals’ Association class C heal point standings. They will finish the regular season with games at Searsport and home against PCHS. Anna Drinkert had eight saves on 12 shots for the Red Riots. Orono (5-3-4) has games remaining at George Stevens and home against Central.
