Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 271 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had 10 Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Alex Brown had a huge game in leading Mattanawcook football to a victory over Ellsworth. Brown totaled over 300 yards and had six touchdowns. Brown edged out his teammate Kris Milner to earn athlete of the week honors. Brown joins Chase Vicaire (1-1-12),

Roadrunner Taxi male athlete of the week
Alex Brown- Mattanawcook- football- had six touchdown, three rushing, two interception returns, and one punt return and had over 300 total yards in 54-0 win over Ellsworth.
Runner up
Kris Milner – Mattanawcook- football- the senior quarterback threw for 303 yards on 10-14 passing and also had one 2 point conversion and rushed for 17 yards in 63/0 win over Houlton.
Other nominations
Cassidy Pound – Mount View- soccer- scored a goal and assisted on the game winning goal in 2-1 win over MCI to bring the season record to 11-0. Had two goals in 6-2 win over John Bapst.
Yosef Worster- Central- soccer- scored two goals in 10-1 win over Mattanawcook.
Keegan Gentle- Houlton – soccer- had one goal and two assists in 3-1 win over Madawaska.
Zach Doore- PVHS- soccer – scored three goals in 4-0 win over Bangor Christian.
Alex Ezzy- Caribou- soccer – scores five goals in 7-1 win over Nokomis.
Collin Caverhill- Caribou- soccer – had six assists in 7-1 win over Nokomis.
Alex Hewitt- Central- soccer- had two goals and had two assists in 10-1 win over Mattanawcook.
