The Husson Eagles put up 739 total yards of offense Saturday afternoon and built a 35-14 halftime lead, en route to a 56-14 football conference victory over Alfred State at Pioneer Stadium in Alfred, New York.
Quarterback Cory Brandon was 17-19 passing, 303 yards, and four touchdowns as Husson improved to 4-2 overall and 3-0 in ECFC play. It was also the 19th straight straight conference win for the Eagles. David Morrison relieved Brandon and went 3-7 passing, 71 yards, with one touchdown, and two interceptions. Miece Loureiro ran for 131 yards on 23 carries and a pair of scores. Keyshaun Robinson caught four passes for 119 yards and three touchdowns to lead the receiving core. Kyle Gaudet had six catches for 97 yards and a score, while Jordan Marcano caught one pass for 62 yards and a touchdown. Ty Bassett added an 82 yard kickoff return for another score. Defensively, De’Wayne Smith and Frank Curran had seven total tackles, with Curran adding a half sack. Elvin Suazo added five tackles and a half sack as well.
For Alfred State (0-7, 0-3), Dashown Wilson went 13-31 passing, 238 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Wide receiver Jalen Long provided the two Pioneer toucdowns, and had nine catches for 169 yards. Darrius Nichols also had five receptions for 115 yards. Michael Zimmerman had 12 total tackles and an interception to lead the defense, while Reshard Love had 10.
Husson looks for their 20th straight conference win next Saturday at home, as they host Anna Maria at 1 pm in the homecoming game at the Winkin Complex.
