Chris Sale struggled with his control and the Red Sox offense only produced three hits as they fell to the Houston Astros 7-2 in game one of the American League Championship Series at Fenway Park on Saturday night.
Sale allowed only one hit but he walked four and struck out five while allowing two runs in four innings. Joe Kelly took the loss, allowing one run after the Red Sox evened up the score.
It was still a one run game entering the ninth inning. Brandon Workman allowed a lead off homer to Josh Reddick and the Astros added to that to take a five run lead.
Justin Verlander allowed two runs on two hits and walked four while striking out six in six innings. David Price and Gerrit Cole is the scheduled game two on Sunday night at 7:09 PM.
