The Husson football team extended their conference winning streak to 20 Saturday afternoon, by cruising past Anna Maria 54-14 in the homecoming game at the Winkin Complex in Bangor.
Husson (5-2, 4-0 ECFC) built a 28-0 lead after one quarter, and extended that to 47-7 at halftime in staying unbeaten in conference play. Senior quarterback Cory Brandon tossed four touchdown passes on 20-27 passing for 288 yards in just a half of football, before being relieved by backup David Morrison. Miece Loureiro rushed for a pair of scores, and rushed for 87 yards on 18 attempts. Corey Moore, Keyshaun Robinson, Kyle Gaudet, and Tyler Halls all had touchdown receptions. Derek Barden had seven total tackles and two sacks to lead the Eagles defense.
Anna Maria (1-6, 1-2), quarterback Alex Cohen had a passing and a rushing touchdown to lead the AMCAT offense, but also threw four interceptions. Swavaughn Smalls had 12 total tackles to anchor the defense, while Aiden Folster had 11.
Husson travels to Vermont next Saturday to battle the Spartans of Castleton with kickoff scheduled for 12 noon.
