Red Sox never trail in game one World Series win over Dodgers

Eduardo Nunez smacked a pinch hit three run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning to spark the Boston Red Sox in an 8-4 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in game one of the World Series on Tuesday night at Fenway Park.

The Red Sox scored two runs in the first inning and never trailed. The Dodgers did even the score on two occasions. The Dodgers were threatening in top of the seventh inning, Eduardo Rodriguez retired Cody Bellinger to halt the rally. The Red Sox held a 5-4 lead when Nunez was sent to the plate. He put the ball over the green monster.

Andrew Benintendi had four hits and three runs scored. J.D. Martinez had two hits and two RBI. Sandy Leon also had two hits. Chris Sale allowed three runs in four innings. Matt Barnes pitched a scoreless fifth inning to pick up the victory. Joe Kelly pitched a perfect sixth inning with two strikeouts. Nathan Eovaldi and Craig Kimbrel also pitched a scoreless inning each.

Clayton Kershaw allowed five runs in four innings for the Dodgers. Justin Turner has three hits. Game two of the series will be Wednesday night at 8:09 PM.
