Miece Loureiro ran for 151 yards and a touchdown Saturday afternoon, as the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference champion Husson Eagles finished their regular season with a 21-10 non-conference win over Plymouth State at Currier Field in Plymouth, New Hampshire.
Husson (8-2) trailed 10-7 at the half, but a short touchdown run by quarterback Cory Brandon, and a 16 yard touchdown pass to Kyle Guadet in the third quarter provided the scoring difference as the Eagles won their seventh straight game. The Panthers of Plymouth State end their season at 6-4.
Brandon went 15-24 passing, 135 yards, one touchdown and also added the rushing touchdown. Louriero carried 34 times. Gaudet caught six passes for 75 yards and the big third quarter touchdown. Ace Curry and Kaleb Caron both had 11 total tackles, while Elvin Suazo had 10 and two sacks to lead the defense. David Hamilton had a rushing touchdown, and Jeremy Martin had a 42 yard field goal for Plymouth State.
Husson will find out who, where, and when they play in the NCAA Division III football tournament when selections are announced Sunday at 5:30 pm.
