The Maine men’s basketball team fell into a 24 point halftime deficit and never recovered Saturday, as the University of San Francisco took an easy 93-50 win at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center in California.
Andrew Fleming and Sergio El Darwich each had 14 points for Maine (0-3), in a game they never led and trailed by as many as 47. San Francisco shot 54.5% from the floor, as compared to just 39% for Maine. USF made 14-29 from the three point line, while Maine was 3-20. Charles Minlend had 22 points and six rebounds to lead the 2-0 Dons. Frankie Ferrari added 13, while Jordan Ratinho and Jimbro Lull had 12 points a piece.
Maine continues their non-conference road trip with a stop in Raleigh, North Carolina next Saturday at 2 pm when the battle the NC State Wolfpack.
