Keagan Dunbar scored 22 points, including seven in the third overtime to lead the Colby women’s basketball team to an 85-78 triple overtime win at Husson on Wednesday night.
Dunbar sent the game to overtime when she drilled a three pointer with seven seconds left in regulation. Kenzie Worcester came up short on a three pointer at the buzzer as the teams went to overtime with the score tied at 55.
Paige Russell gave Colby a 63-61 lead when she drilled two free throws with seven seconds left in the first overtime. Worcester responded with two free throws to even the score at 63 and send the game to overtime number two.
Megan Peach made two free throws to give the Eagles a 71-68 lead with six seconds left in the second overtime. Russell drained a three pointer at the buzzer to send the game to the third overtime.
The Mules carried that momentum into the final five minutes to outscore Husson 14-7. The Mules went 8-8 from the free throw line in the third overtime.
Ainsley Burns scored a game high 24 points for the Mules. Dunbar filled up the stat sheet with 10 rebounds and five assists. Emily Davis also had a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Worcester poured in a game high 29 points for the Eagles. She also had eight rebounds and six assists. Peach recorded 22 points and nine rebounds. Colby out rebounded Husson 55-38.
