DEXTER- The Dexter Lady Tigers jumped out to a 19-2 lead and rolled to a 50-17 win over Madison in a preseason game played Saturday afternoon at Guiski Gymnasium.
Dexter held a 14-2 lead after the first quarter as Peyton Grant scored 11 of her game high 20 points in the first eight minutes. The Tigers held a 21-4 halftime lead.
Grant and Avery Herrick combined for 16 points in the third quarter as the Lady Tigers outscored Madison 18-5.
Grant made 6 three pointers and had two assists. Herrick added 14 points, seven rebounds, and two assists. Freshman Elizabeth Kinney came off the bench to score eight points, while Cheyenne Beem chipped in with five points. Kaylee Deering recorded seven assists and three rebounds.
Katie Worthen led the Bulldogs with eight points. Dexter shot 6-12 from the free throw line, Madison shot 5-10. The Tigers open the season on December 8th at Eastern Maine Community College against Bangor Christian. Madison will also open on December 8th when they host Richmond.
