The Husson Eagles men’s basketball team started the game on a 9-0 run and never looked back in a 96-64 win over Northern Vermont-Lyndon in a conference opener.
DJ Bussey led a balanced Eagles attack with 12 points. Justin Martin and Justice Kendall added 11 points each. Justin Thompson came off the bench to record 10 points and six rebounds. Husson shot 19-27 from the free throw line while Lyndon shot 3-6 from the line.
In the nightcap, the Eagles women’s team also had four players in double figures in a 72-45 win over the Hornets.
Sami Ireland led the way for the Eagles with 15 points, six rebounds, and four blocks. Logan Huckins and Megan Peach came off the bench to score 12 and 10 points respectively. Kenzie Worcester chipped in with 11 points.
The Husson teams will continue conference play on Saturday afternoon when they take on Northern Vermont-Johnson.
