David Pastrnak scored the first goal of the game, and then assisted on the Boston Bruins second and third goals Thursday night leading the hosts to a 3-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks at TD Garden in Boston.
Pastrnak scored his 22nd marker of the season on the powerplay at 8:19 of the second to break the scoreless tie and make it 1-0. Torey Krug added another powerplay goal at 18:05 assisted by Brad Marchand and Pastrnak to make it 2-0.
Pastrnak and Marchand both added their second assists setting up David Krejci 5:21 into the third to make it 3-0. For Krejci, he becomes the 10th Boston Bruin all-time to reach 600 career points. Josh Muhura scored his first of the year to put Anaheim (19-13-5) on the board and end the scoring with 4:16 left.
Jaroslav Halak stopped 21 shots in net to get the win for Boston (19-12-4). John Gibson made 28 saves in the loss for Anaheim. The Bruins were 2-4 on the powerplay, while the Ducks went 0-4. Anaheim has now lost two in a row after a four game win streak. Boston, who has won two in a row and five of their last seven, is currently fifth in the Eastern Conference and will host the Nashville Predators Saturday at 1 pm. The Preds are currently tied for first in the West.
