DEXTER- The Dexter Tigers jumped out to a 7-0 lead and never looked back in a 73-53 win over the Piscataquis Community High School Pirates (PCHS) in a boys basketball game played Thursday night at Guiski gymnasium.
Trevor Richards scored nine of his game high 19 points in the first quarter as the Tigers held a 22-11 lead after the first eight minutes. Dexter allowed only one field goal in the second quarter as they took a commanding 41-17 halftime lead.
Trevor Richards filled up the stat sheet with his 19 points, nine steals, five assists, and five rebounds. Brett Kusnierz had 10 of his 16 points in the first half. Nathan Richards recorded 12 points, seven rebounds, five assists, four steals, and three blocks. Haedyn Geunther also finished in double figures with 10 points. Kobe Pillsbury contributed six points, five rebounds, and five assists. Cameron Paige added four points and four steals. Robbie Dorman and Chris Fitzgerald had two and one points respectively. Dexter (5-0) will travel to Bucksport on Saturday.
Caleb Crocker scored a team high 16 points (8-8 FT) for the Pirates. Eben Cooley recorded 13 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Caleb Willis added seven points, six rebounds, and four blocks. Matt Robinson put in two 3 pointers for six points, Wayne Haley had four points. Chris Easler added three points while Caleb Bailey and Trevor Hathorn had two each. PCHS (0-4) will host Penquis on Saturday.
