Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 247 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had six Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Annie Cook has lifted Skowhegan to a hot start to the season, including scoring 33 points in a win over previously undefeated Hampden. Cooke joins Adam Dusty (10-20-11), Marcus Christopher (10-8-17), Ashley Alward (4-23-18), Alexis Michonsk (9-16-18), and Adelle Foss (10-7-18) as student/athletes from Skowhegan high school to earn athlete of the week honors.

Annie Cook- Skowhegan- Basketball- had 33 points in 50-35 win over previously undefeated Hampden. Scored 22 points in 55-22 win over MCI.
Runner up
Lauren Cook- Calais- Basketball- had 30 points (17 in first quarter) and seven three pointers in 81-44 win over Woodland. Had 16 points in 44-30 win over Mattanawcook.
Other nominations
Olivia Gallant- Schenck- basketball – scored 15 points, including going 7-10 from the free throw line in fourth quarter in 35-27 win over Stearns.
Jessica Pomerleau- Greenville- basketball- scored 19 points in 45-13 win over Bangor Christian.
Katelyn Tolman- Mattanawcook -Basketball- recorded 16 pts, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 11-15 free throws, 1-1 three pointer in 45-42 loss to Stearns.
Olivia Henderson- Houlton- Basketball- had 13 points (eight in fourth quarter) in 46-40 win over Central.
