Dexter has balance scoring in boys basketball win over PCHS

GUILFORD– The Dexter Tigers had five players score in double figures as they rolled to an 82-58 win over PCHS on Monday evening.

The Tigers got 11 first quarter points from Trevor Richards as they jumped out to a 21-15 lead. The Pirates got in foul trouble early as Kobe Gilbert got two fouls very early and only played two minutes in the first half. Eben Cooley was also limited with three first half fouls.

Dexter outscored PCHS 23-10 in the second quarter to take a commanding 44-25 halftime lead. Kobe Pillsbury and Haedyn Geunther each had 10 first half points while Richards had 14.

Trevor Richards was doing a lot of scoring, his younger brother Nathan Richards was doing a lot of everything else. Nathan Richards finished the game with 10 assists, eight steals, four rebounds, one block to go along with his four points.

The Tigers continued to get open for layups in the third quarter. Geunther and Cameron Paige took advantage by combining for 13 points in the quarter as Dexter outscored PCHS 21-12.

Cooley scored a team high 15 points for the Pirates. Gilbert and Caleb Crocker put in 14 points each. Crocker also had eight rebounds. Chris Easler came off the bench to put in six points. PCHS (5-5) will travel to Penquis on Wednesday.

Geunther led the Tigers with 19 points, eight rebounds, and two steals. Trevor Richards recorded 17 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Pillsbury had 14 points. Brett Kusnierz and Paige added 12 points each. Dexter (8-1) will travel to Mattanawcook on Wednesday.
