At Howland Tuesday, Penobscot Valley used an impressive offensive attack to defeat Greenville 73-35.
PVHS stormed to a 23-9 first quarter lead, led by Grant Kidon’s nine points. Elijah Wood scored seven points in the 2nd, as the Howlers extended their lead to 19 points. Reece Carter set the pace in the 3rd, connecting on seven points, while Wood, Lance Neal, and Zach Mitchell all netted six points in the 4th quarter to help close out the game.
Wood led all scorers with 21 points, while Carter finished with 12. Kidon had six steals to go along with his 11 points. Alex Tash and Bradon Blish chipped in with seven points apiece, while Sophomores Neal and Mitchell scored six points each.
The Howlers improve to 11-2 and remain in 6th place in Class C North. They will host Stearns on Saturday. Greenville drops to 5-7 and currently sit in 5th place in Class D South. They host Forest Hills on Thursday.
