DOVER-FOXCROFT– The John Bapst Crusaders ended the game on a 7-0 run and picked up an important heal point worthy 42-37 win over Foxcroft on Saturday evening.
The Crusaders had a 16-11 lead after the first quarter as they had six different players that scored in a the first eight minutes.
Makenzie Beaudry and Ainsley Ade combined for 13 second quarter points as the Ponies outscored John Bapst 16-9 to take a 27-25 halftime advantage.

The Ponies still held a two point lead (35-33) heading into the final quarter.
Foxcroft maintained that two point lead until Adelaide Valley put in her only basket of the game to even the score at 37 with 2:30 remaining. Sydney Ellis made a layup to give the Crusaders a lead they wouldn’t give back.
The Ponies only made one field goal and went 0-4 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter. Beaudry led the Ponies with 16 points and 15 rebounds. Ade put in seven points, Jenna Anderson added six points, nine rebounds, and two blocks. Foxcroft (6-9) currently sit in the 11th and final class B tournament spot. The Ponies end the season with games against Ellsworth, Hermon, and MDI.
Foxcroft out rebounded John Bapst 39-24. The Ponies shot 3-11 from the free throw line, while the Crusaders shot 7-20.
Emily Mock came off the bench to contribute 10 points (3 three pointers) and eight rebounds for the Crusaders. Lacey Scanlon recorded nine points, eight steals, and five rebounds. Ellis added eight points, five rebounds, and two steals, while Tianna Cyr added seven points and four steals. John Bapst (5-9) put themselves in good position to grab a tournament spot. They are currently ninth in the standings with four games left in the regular season. All of their remaining games are at home starting with a contest against Orono on Monday at the Cross Insurance Center.
