BANGOR- The Hermon Hawks remembered the feeling they had after they played Presque Isle in the 2018 semifinal round. They made sure they didn’t have that feeling again as they went on a 23-3 run and rolled to a 67-32 victory over the Wildcats in a Maine Principals’ Association class B girls basketball quarterfinal game played Saturday morning at the Cross Insurance Center.
The Hawks broke open a 6-6 game with their run that extended into the second quarter. Hermon had 11 assists on their 16 first half field goals. Caitlynn Tracy had 17 of her game high 30 points in the first half.
Hermon out-rebounded Presque Isle 31-13 as Grace Page pulled down 13 for the Hawks. The Hawks lost to the Wildcats in a 2018 semifinal contest. Hermon (17-2) will play Waterville in a semifinal game Wednesday night at 7:05 PM. Waterville defeated John Bapst on Friday night.
Madison Michaud scored a team high 13 points for the Wildcats. Faith Sjoberg added eight points. Presque Isle finishes the season with a 11-9 record.
Tracy had five rebounds to go along with her 30 points. Page added 14 points, while Paige Plissey filled up the stat sheet with 10 points, six assists, five rebounds, and four steals.
