Hermon Hawks junior Isaac Varney was selected to big east conference first team. On Sunday night, Varney was named Eastern Maine Sports boys basketball player of the year. Varney received 35% of the vote. Keegan Gentle (Houlton) finished as runner up with 24%. Cooper Wirkala (Oceanside) and Alex Brown (Mattanawcook) also received more than 10% of the total vote.
