Tiger wins at Augusta to win first major in 11 years

Tiger Woods silenced his critics on Sunday afternoon. Woods shot a three under par on the final day of play at Augusta National Golf Club to capture the 2019 Masters Tournament in Augusta, Georgia.

Tiger breaks a personal streak of 11 years without winning a major tournament (US Open 2008), and becomes the first player to go 14 years since last winning the Masters. Woods (-14) now has 15 majors in his career and five green jackets at Augusta. Jack Nicklaus is the all time leader with 18 majors and six Masters titles.

Dustin Johnson, Xander Schauffele, and Brooks Koepka all finished two shots back at -12, while Tony Finau, Webb Simpson, Francesco Molinari, and Jason Day all finished three back at -11. Woods also won his first major of his career when trailing heading to the final round. Tiger also joins Nicklaus as the oldest player to ever win the Masters. Nicklaus was 43 years old as well when he won at Augusta in 1986.
