May 23, 2019

Ryan Weber gave the Boston Red Sox just what they needed on Thursday afternoon after a 13 inning win over the Blue Jays on Wednesday night. Weber allowed only one run on three hits in six innings to lift the Red Sox to an 8-2 win over the Blue Jays. Weber (1-0) didn’t issue a walk and struck out four to earn his second major league victory.

Steve Pearce powered the offense with three hits and three RBI, including a two run homer. Xander Bogaerts, Rafael Devers, Eduardo Nunez, and Jackie Bradley JR each had two hits. Devers had two RBI. Each player in the lineup had at least one hit as the Red Sox pounded out 16 total hits.

The Red Sox will open a three game series at Houston on Friday night at 8:10 PM. Chris Sale/Wade Miley is the scheduled pitching matchup.
