The 2019 ESPY Awards were held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Wednesday night. The Awards honor the best teams, coaches, and athletes in the past year in all of sports including some of the top moments. Mookie Betts was nominated for best male athlete as well as best MLB player. The World Champion 2018 Boston Red Sox were nominated for best team. Rounding out the Boston sports scene, the 2018 World Champion New England Patriots were also nominated for best team. Boston Celtics Hall of Famer Bill Russell received the Arthur Ashe Courage Award. Best MLB player- Christian Yelich, Milwaukee Brewers
Best NHL player- Alexander Ovechkin, Washington Capitals
Best NBA player- Giannis Antenkoumpo, Milwaukee Bucks
Best WNBA player- Breanna Stewart, Seattle Storm
Best game- L.A. Rams over KC Chiefs 54-51 in Monday Night Football
Best college athlete- Zion Williamson, Duke
Best record breaking performance- Drew Brees becomes all time passing leader
Best comeback- St. Louis Blues come from worse to first to win Stanley Cup
