The NBA dream for Nick Mayo is over for now. As first reported by Travis Lazarczyk of the Kennebec Journal, the former Messalonskee High and Eastern Kentucky standout Mayo has signed professionally to play in Japan.

Mayo, who was the all time leader in points at Eastern Kentucky with 2,316, was playing for the Miami Heat in the NBA Summer League where he averaged nine points a game and shot 63 percent from the floor.
Mayo will join the Chiba Jets, who went 52-8 last season and won the Eastern Conference in their league before losing in the league final.
