According to County Sports Talk on Facebook, Matt Rossignol has been named boys varsity basketball coach at Madawaska high school.
Rossignol a member of the Maine basketball hall of fame, tallied 2257 points in his high school career at Van Buren high school.
Rossignol scored 1297 in his college career at the University of Maine. In 1986, he scored 23 points in a Black Bears 84-81 win over Michigan State.
This is Rossignol’s second time coaching the Madawaska boys basketball program. He also coached Houlton and Van Buren boys teams and the Van Buren girls program. He coached his daughter Parise Rossignol while coaching the Crusaders girls.
