Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 305 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had 8 Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Brayden Lujan from Mattanawcook Academy had a big game on both sides of the ball to lead the Lynx to a win over Foxcroft. Lujan joins Chase Vicaire (1-1-12), Trysten Pelkey (2) (10-13-13), Courtney McIntyre (3) (5-23-15 ), Tia Tardy (3-8-14), Garrett, Sutherland (11-2-14), Emily Page (5-22-17)
Dominic Libbey (10-1-17), Alex Brown (10-14-18), and Cayden Spencer-Thompson (6-3-19) as student/athletes from Mattanawcook that have earned athlete of the week honors.

- Brayden Lujan- Mattanawcook- football- rushes for 208 yards and three touchdown, Lujan had 53 yards receiving, plus an interception in 47-35 win over Foxcroft.

- Ryan Friend- MCI- football- threw five touchdowns in 49-0 win over Medomak Valley.
Other nominations
- Noah Reynolds- Houlton- football- had 209 yards on 36 carries plus the game winning touchdown and had 11 tackles on defense in 7-6 win over Belfast.
- Trafton Gilbert- Waterville- football- rushed for 246 yards and three touchdowns in 25-21 loss to Madison.
- Nate Regalado- Lawrence- football- rushed for 60 yards and two touchdowns, caught a 30 yard touchdown pass and had four tackles on defense in 69-6 win over Brewer.
- Brady Reed- Bangor Christian- soccer- scored three goals in 8-2 win over Schenck.
- Kaeden Robert- Bangor Christian- soccer – had three goals in 8-2 win over Schenck.
- Will Russell- MCI- football- caught three touchdowns in 49-0 win over Medomak Valley.
