The Edward Little Red Eddies boys basketball will have strong senior leadership as they go up against a tough class AA. The Red Eddies went 19-3 last season.
“This group of six seniors has done a lot together over their careers. From grade 3-4 travel basketball leagues to team Camps at NC State, Marshal, Princeton, to ‘Eddies Camp’ every day through the summer, they’ve been together.” Edward Little coach Mike Adams said.
Adams is part of a veteran coaching group in the class. Edward Little is expected to be in the mix with Deering, Bangor, Oxford Hills, and others for the top spot in class AA.
“AA North is filled with coaches who know how to win and prepare for whatever you have. They will find and exploit your weaknesses as good, or better than anyone else. We have Coaches with over 30 years of experience at the same school. These coaches have seen it all – you’ve got to really bring your ‘A’ game every night – including practices to prepare for them,”Adams said. “Deering brings back some key players as well as some key new additions. Coach Wing does a great job and will have Deering more than prepared. Bangor returns one of the most fundamental players in the state and also has some key new players. Oxford Hills will be young – but once you reach the halfway point of the season you aren’t ‘young’ anymore. Ronnie Turner has brought some athletes back into the Lewiston program and they are playing with a real high energy level. Cheverus returns their point guard and one of the better post players in the Conference. Windham was young last year and returns several key players with experience now. Coach Russo has Coached at Portland when he has the best players on the floor…and he has Coached at Portland when he does not…both ways – Portland has advanced to the Semi’s or better! His kids are tough and they compete every year. They have several players coming back with experience.“
Top Returning Players – Austin Brown, Cam Yorke, Max Creaser, Storm Jipson
Top Newcomers – John Shea, Dan Milks, RJ Nichols, Jamaine Luizzo
Outlook: Expect this group to be one of the top four seeds in class AA, with an opportunity to make a deep tourney run come late February.
