Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 313 past athlete of the week winners.
This week we had four Rowells Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Maddy Martin put up a double double to help the Waterville Purple Panthers start the season with a win over over MCI. Martin joins Pilar Elias (10-20-13), and Dan Pooler (11-10-13) as student/athletes from Waterville high school that have earned athlete of the week honors.
The Charles Inn female athlete of the week
- Maddy Martin- Waterville- Basketball- the senior had 17 points, 11 rebounds, four steals, and two blocks in 55-27 win over MCI.
Runner up
- Gabrielle Weber- Messalonskee- Basketball- recorded 18 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists in 56-37 win over Mt. Blue.

- Alexis Leeman- Bucksport- Basketball- scored 16 points in 42-29 win over Searsport.
- Silver Clukey- Winslow- Basketball- scored 19 points in 64-26 win over Mt. View.
