CORINTH- Peyton Grant and Cheyenne Beem combined for 33 points to lead the Dexter Tigers to a 45-35 win over Central in a girls basketball game played Wednesday night.
Central held the lead for the entire first quarter as Emilee Cohen scored four points and the Red Devils held a three point (10-7) edge after the first eight minutes.
The Tigers took their first lead when they went on a 5-0 run early in the second quarter and took a 14-12 advantage. Dexter went into intermission with a 20-19 lead.
Central took their last lead when they scored the first basket after halftime. Dexter followed that up with a 9-0 run capped by a Grant three pointer. Beem scored nine points in the quarter, including
beating the buzzer to give Dexter a 35-25 lead.

The Tigers struggled from the free throw line going 7-20 for the game, but they were able to make six down the stretch to seal the victory.
Central out rebounded Dexter 31-24. Central had 23 turnovers, while Dexter had 12. Central shot 5-7 from the free throw line.
Emilee Cohen led the Red Devils with 15 points, seven rebounds, and three assists. Ali Shaw recorded nine points, six rebounds, and three assists. Cassidy Hanson had six points and six rebounds, Rylee Speed put in four points, while Abi Allen had three points and eight rebounds. Central (3-2) will play at Bucksport on Friday night.
Grant led the Tigers with 17 points (3 three pointers) and six steals, Beem had 16 points (2 three pointers), seven rebounds, and two steals. Elizabeth Kinney put in seven points (six in the first half). Cloe Mountain recorded three points, five assists, and four rebounds. Abigail Wakefield chipped in with two points, eight rebounds, and two steals. Dexter (3-1) will host PVHS on Friday night.
