BANGOR– Katherine Alley reached a milestone in leading the Stearns girls to a 54-37 Class C win over Bucksport in the Maine Hall of Fame Classic Saturday morning at the Cross Insurance Center.
Alley sunk a jumper midway through the third quarter to make it to the 1000 career point mark.

With the game tied at seven, the Minutemen went on a 15-2 that extended into the second quarter as they took a 22-9 lead. Katherine Alley scored 14 first half points as Stearns took a 24-15 lead into intermission.
Bucksport cut the deficit as low as seven early in the the third quarter. Katherine Alley took over from that point, scoring 11 in the quarter as the Minutemen built the lead to 42-28 heading into the final eight minutes.
Katherine Alley capped off her amazing day with 32 points, including seven in the final quarter. She also had seven steals, five rebounds, and two blocks. Maisey Girsa added eight points. Annalys Robinson chipped in with five points and eight rebounds. Alisyn Alley filled up the stat sheet with four points, 10 rebounds, eight assists, and seven steals. Makayla Anderson and Kasey Kenyon had two points each, while Kelly Farher made one free throw. Stearns (9-0) will travel to Houlton on Thursday.
Jade Leeman recorded 23 points, 10 rebounds, and two assists for the Bucks. Faith Vincent added seven points and eight rebounds. Abby Hanscom and Sara Bos had three points each, while Lexie Leeman made one free throw. Bucksport (2-4) will host Narraguagus on Thursday.
Stearns shot 13-22 from the free throw line, while Bucksport shot 6-10. The Bucks turned the ball over 30 times, while the Minutemen had 10.
