The Boston Bruins got goals from six different players on Tuesday night, en route to a 6-2 pasting of the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
Boston had lost five straight games in Nashville, and eight of their last nine entering action. David Pastrnak scored his 32nd goal for the only scoring of the first period giving the Bruins the lead at 1:36. Danton Heinen extended the lead to a pair with a shorthanded goal at 8:21 of the second. The home Preds though cut the lead in half 2:33 later when Filip Forsberg scored on a powerplay. Patrice Bergeron got a big goal and what turned out to be the game winner at 17:42 to make it 3-1. Chris Wagner got a shorthanded goal at 2:51 of the third to make it a three goal lead, before Mikael Granlund cut it to a two goal game again with a powerplay marker at 18:06. David Krejci scored into an empty net with an assist from goaltender Tuuka Rask at 19:05, and Charlie Coyle added yet another shorthanded goal for good measure at 19:27 to end the scoring.
Rask made 33 saves in the win for Boston, who improves to 25-8-11. Heinen and Coyle both had a goal and an assist, while Matt Grzelcyk added two assists. Pekka Rinne stopped 30 shots in the loss, as Nashville sees their record fall to 19-16-7. The Bruins were 1-3 on the powerplay, while the Predators were 2-7. Boston heads home to host Winnipeg on Thursday night.
