Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 319 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had nine Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Kobe Gilbert averaged 29.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 4.3 steals, and 3.5 assists in leading the PCHS Pirates to a 2-1 week. It is the fourth athlete of the week honor for Gilbert.

- Kobe Gilbert – PCHS – recorded 44 points (6 three pointers), five rebounds, four steals, and three assists in 70-69 double overtime loss to Mattanawcook. Recorded 25 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals in 78-39 win over Valley. Recorded 20 points, 10 rebounds, and six steals in 68-39 win over Searsport.

- Sam Martin- Bangor- basketball- recorded 25 points, 18 rebounds, and 8 blocks in 65-44 win over Deering.
