On Tuesday night, the #5 seed PVHS Lady Howlers defeated #12 seed Fort Kent Lady Warriors 55-33 in a Class C girls basketball preliminary round game played at Howland.
This was the first game back for senior Lexi Ireland, after suffering an ankle injury a few weeks ago. Ireland and the Lady Howlers were clicking on all cylinders. They started the game on a 28-0 run and held a 30-3 half time lead.
Ireland lead PVHS with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and six steals in just 20 minutes of play. Leine McKechnie’s hot shooting gave her 12 points on 4 three pointers, and five steals. Freshman Holly Loring added 11. Fort Kent was lead by the senior duo of Desiree Hafford who had 10 and Madison Saucier who had 8.
