As first reported by Eric Gullickson from WABI Channel 5 in Bangor, the University of Maine-Machias has suspended all athletic programs indefinitely due to budget constraints effective today July 21.
The move for the Clippers will immediately effect two full-time coaches, four part-time temporary coaches, and 73 student athletes that includes 20 new recruits while scholarships will still be honored. Below is the press release from the University of Maine regarding this change-
