As first reported by WABI-TV in Bangor, Maine Maritime Academy announced on Friday that it has suspended their football program indefinitely.
President of MMA Dr. William J. Brennan said the college administration will review the overall financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic upon programs and the college’s operations. Brennan had made an announcement back on July 17 that all athletic competition for the fall of 2020 would be suspended, with a chance to hopefully take place in the spring 2021 semester. The Mariners were coming off an 0-10 season in 2019, and an 0-7 record in conference play.
