NHL, NBA playoffs to return Saturday

After a few days of protest by the players in the NBA and NHL due to a police shooting involving an African American in 29 year old Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin last Sunday, play is scheduled to resume on Saturday.

The Boston Bruins will resume their second round series at 12 noon Saturday with the Tampa Bay Lightning, trailing the best of seven series 2-1. The Boston Celtics will begin their second round series with the defending world champion Toronto Raptors on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Also seven Major League baseball games were postponed on Thursday amidst the protests. The Boston Red Sox have returned from a series in Buffalo, New York against the Toronto Blue Jays where they split two games and decided not to play Thursday night. Boston will host the defending World Series champion Washington Nationals Friday night for the first of a three game series. The Sox are back at Fenway for a 10 game homestand.
