Lebron James led all scorers and had a triple double Sunday night with 28 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a resounding 106-93 win over the Miami Heat in game six of the NBA Finals at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. The Lakers win the series 4-2.
Los Angeles built a 28 point halftime lead and never looked back, winning their 17th championship in team history tying the Boston Celtics for the most ever. The Lakers would lead by as many as 36, and would win without ever letting the Miami Heat take a lead in the game. Bam Adebayo led Miami in the loss with 25 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists as the Heat finish their season with a record of 61-43 reaching the Finals as the fifth seed out of the Eastern Conference.
Anthony Davis added 19 points and 15 rebounds, Rajon Rondo also added 19 points, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope chipped in 17 points in the Los Angeles win. The top Western Conference seeded Lakers finish the season with a final record of 71-27, going 19-8 in the bubble since their restart back on July 30th (16-5 in the playoffs). James wins his fourth championship and also his fourth NBA Finals MVP, becoming the first player ever to do that with three different teams (Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers). Rondo, the former Boston guard, wins his first title since 2008 as a member of the Celtics. The season finally comes to an end after these teams spent a total of 95 days in the Orlando bubble, and the 2019-20 season was just 11 days short of taking a full calendar year to play.
