Brandon Lowe hit a pair of homeruns and drove in three on Wednesday night, to help the Tampa Bay Rays even the World Series at 1-1 with a 6-4 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in Arlington, Texas.
With one out in the top of the first inning, Lowe hit his first of the night a solo homer to left center field to make it 1-0. After Joey Wendle had made it 3-0 Tampa with a two run double in the fourth, Lowe was at it again when he lifted a two run blast to left field that hit off the top of the fence to make it 5-0 in the fifth. Manuel Margot also added two hits. Chris Taylor hit a two run homer, while Will Smith and Corey Seager hit solo shots in the loss for Los Angeles. The Dodgers had their four game win streak snapped. Blake Snell was solid in the win for the Rays, going 4.2 innings allowing two runs on two hits with nine strikeouts. Nick Anderson won in relief, and Diego Castillo earned the save. Tampa Bay won their 64th consecutive game when leading after the seventh inning. Tony Gonsolin started and took the loss for the Dodgers, going just 1.1 innings allowed one run and one hit. The only off day of this World Series takes place Thursday. Game three is scheduled for a 8:09 p.m. first pitch Friday night. Los Angeles will send Walker Buehler to the mound, while Tampa counters with Charlie Morton.
