Jimmy Garroppolo threw for 277 yards and Jeff Wilson rushed for three scores on Sunday evening, as the San Francisco 49ers crushed the New England Patriots 33-6 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. New England has now lost four of the last six games they’ve played at home including playoffs.
Garroppolo went 20-25 in his first game against New England since arriving in San Francisco in 2017. He didn’t throw any touchdowns and also had a pair of interceptions, but was more than effective to lead San Francisco past a very inept Patriots offense. Cam Newton was only 9-15 passing for 98 yards and was intercepted three times. He was pulled late in the third quarter for backup Jarrett Stidham who went 6-10 for 64 yards and an interception. New England (2-4), losers of three straight games, could only manage a pair of Nick Folk field goals. Wilson had 112 yards rushing on 17 carries in the win for San Francisco (4-3), while Brandon Aiyuk grabbed six catches for 115 yards. Damien Harris had 10 carries for 58 yards, and Jakobi Myers had four catches for 60 yards for the Pats. New England is at Buffalo for an AFC East matchup with the Bills next Sunday at 1 p.m.
