The Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) has announced that all conference sponsored sports competition and championships have been canceled for this winter.
The conference includes Maine schools in the University of Maine-Augusta, Southern Maine Community College, and Central Maine Community College. Other member schools include New Hampshire Institute of Technology, Hampshire College, Vermont Tech, Northern Essex Community College, Paul Smiths College, Albany College of Pharmacy, and Great Bay Community College. Previous Maine schools included in the YSCC were the University of Maine-Machias who has dropped athletics indefinitely due to budget constraints, and also Unity College who dropped out for the 2020-21 sports season due to moving all classes to online and hybrid.
The conference is dedicated to allowing member schools compete in non-conference competition, pending approval consistent with state, federal, and member institution safety guidelines. YSCC competition and championships could be played in the spring, as that will be looked at closer to that time arriving. Below you can read the entire statement from the league-
