The worlds #1 ranked golfer has won his first major tournament. Dustin Johnson shot a 20 under par and won the 2020 Masters Tournament in Augusta, Georgia that concluded Sunday afternoon.
He broke the tournament scoring record by two strokes, and beat out second place finishers Cameron Smith and Im Sung-Jae by five shots. The previous lowest score of -18 was held by Tiger Woods (1997) where he still holds the record at Augusta for margin of victory (12). The 20 under par is also tied for the second best score all-time in a major. This was the 84th edition of the Masters, and was re-scheduled from April 9-12 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Johnson now has distanced himself by 2.5 points atop the world rankings with the win, to guarantee him that top spot well into 2021.
