December 29, 2020

In an announcement by University of Maine President Joan Ferrini-Mundy on Tuesday morning, the basketball teams at the school have the go ahead to start playing home games at Memorial Gym on campus beginning this weekend with the men’s team.

No fans or media will be allowed inside the gymnasium for games this season. This will be the first time any Black Bear basketball team has played a home game since the women’s team defeated UMass-Lowell in the America East semifinals in March. The men’s team will host New Hampshire this Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m., while the women’s first home games will be next weekend January 9 and 10 against New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). Games can be seen live on ESPN Plus, heard on the radio at 96.1 or 94.1 FM, or online at goblackbears.com. Below is the official press release courtesy of the University of Maine-
