For the second consecutive week and fourth time already this season, Maine fifth year senior guard Blanca Millan has earned the America East Player of the Week honors.
Millan, a native of Spain, has averaged 22.7 points per game along with 8.2 rebounds and 2.4 steals per contest on the season returning this year after missing most of 2019-20 with a serious knee injury. This past weekend she averaged 21.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.0 steals in leading the Black Bears to a pair of road wins over Albany. She is now tied with Rachel Bouchard with 12 weekly honors, the second most all-time, and is five away from tying Cindy Blodgett for the most ever (17).
Millan and the Black Bears will try to continue the great season when Maine (10-1, 7-1 America East) visits Binghamton this Saturday and Sunday (1/23&1/24) at 2 p.m. trying to improve on a five game winning streak.
