DOVER-FOXCROFT – The Brewer Witches outscored Foxcroft 24-9 in the second quarter and rolled to a 75-41 schoolboy basketball win on Tuesday night.
The teams played an even 13-13 first quarter. The Witches exploded in the next eight minutes as Colby Smith put in eight of his game high 20 points. Brewer (3-0) had six different scorers in the second quarter. Dylan Huff made 2 three pointers in the third quarter as the Witches outscored the Ponies 19-11.
Smith added six rebounds, two assists, and two steals to go along with his game high point total. Huff added 15 points and five rebounds. Kyle Goodrich contributed eight points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Smith was named Our FAMBily Restaurant player of the game. Goodrich earned Jersey Sub unsung hero of the game.
Ryder Goodwin added nine points and four rebounds for the Witches. Brady Saunders chipped in with eight points, four rebounds, two assists, and two blocks.
Logan Martin led the Ponies with 14 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Caden Crocker had nine points (all in the third quarter) and eight rebounds. Lucas Ames added seven points, while the freshmen duo of Jackson Smith and Jadon Richard had six and five points respectively. Foxcroft (0-1) will play at MCI on Friday night.
