GUILFORD- The Piscataquis Community High School (PCHS) Pirates rallied from a 12 point second half deficit to get by Penquis 48-44 on Thursday evening.
With the Patriots leading 32-20 with 3:30 left in the third quarter, the Pirates went on a 10-0 run to end the quarter and cut the deficit to two heading into the final eight minutes of play.
Kobe Gilbert sparked the comeback with 12 of his game high 29 points in the third quarter. Alvin Robshaw helped Penquis maintain the lead with eight points in the third quarter.
Gilbert gave the Pirates (2-1) a lead (39-36) they would hold onto the rest of the way when he made this three pointer midway through the final quarter.

Robshaw led the Patriots (0-2) with 10 points. Will Waterhouse and Corbin Cyr added eight points each. Waterhouse also pulled down nine rebounds.
Gilbert had nine rebounds, six steals, and three assists to go along with his game high point total. Christian Easler added nine points and seven rebounds for the Pirates. Easler got two offensive rebounds and a basket late to help secure the win for PCHS.

Penquis shot 7-13 from the free throw line, while PCHS shot 12-22. The Pirates had 30 rebounds, Penquis had 29.
