Tom Brady threw for 201 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions on Sunday night, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense shut down Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs to win Super Bowl LV 31-9 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, Florida.

Tampa Bay, who finished 15-5 and on an eight game winning streak, wins their first championship since the 2002 season. Brady wins his seventh ring in 10 Super Bowl appearances, and also wins his fifth Super Bowl game MVP. A sluggish start for both teams saw Kansas City hit the scoreboard first when Harrison Butker hit a 49 yard field goal. Brady came back with an eight yard TD pass to old buddy Rob Gronkowski to make it 7-3, and then would hit Gronk again for a 17 yard scoring play with six minutes left in the second to make it 14-3. After the Chiefs cut it to 14-6, the Buccaneers scored right before the half going 72 yards in just 55 seconds and Brady found Antonio Brown on a one yard passing play and Tampa led 21-6 at halftime. Kansas City (16-3) once again settled for a Butker field goal early in the third for their last points of the game. Leonard Fournette scored on a 27 yard run to make it 28-9, and later in the quarter Ryan Succop hit a 52 yard field goal to end the scoring. The story of the game was the Bucs defense, chasing Mahomes around and pressuring him all night leading to a pair of interceptions and a total of three sacks.

Brady was 21-29 passing in the win to take home yet another Super Bowl ring and MVP Award. Fournette and Ronald Jones combined for 150 yards on the ground for Tampa on 28 carries (Fournette 16-89-1, Jones 12-61). Gronkowski caught six passes for 67 yards and the pair of scores, his biggest output in any game this season. Devin White and Antoine Winfield Jr. had the interceptions, while White was also the leading tackler with eight stops on the night. Mahomes went 26-49 for 270 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions in the loss, picking up alot of passing yardage after the game had already been decided. Clyde Edwards-Helaire had nine carries and 64 yards, while tightend Travis Kelce broke several postseason records and had another big game with 10 catches for 133 yards. Damien Wilson had six tackles to lead the defense. KC becomes just the third team in the Super Bowl era to not score a touchdown in the big game. Tampa Bay in four postseason games scored points on 16 of 17 red zone opportunities, and also went 47% on third down efficiency leading to wins over Washington, New Orleans, Green Bay, and now Kansas City. Head Coach Bruce Arians also becomes the oldest coach to ever win the Super Bowl at 68 years and 27 days.
